Verizon has entered into an agreement to buy Alltel for some $5.9 billion, and along with Alltel’s debts of around $22.2 billion this makes the price a total of $28.1 billion.

    As of 1 Q 08, Suncom is all Tmobile's. I am looking forward to Tmobile improving Suncom's crappy network.

    The Verizon & Alltel deal is supposed to be done by year end. Thing is, I've found AllTel's network to be the best I've ever used, in terms of lack of dead spots and reliability. I hope the Verizon deal doesn't do away with that. Also I've heard that Verizon's customer service sucks big time. I hope that's not true.

    Upgrade? I don't think so!

    I'm out of contract in a couple of months, and you are next year.

    We can get better deals on eBay than with the phone companies who make you sign up another two year contract.
